"Bar-on-Bus" Hitachino Tour: An Exclusive Journey Through Japan's Finest Breweries
Journey Through Flavor: Kiuchi Brewery's Signature Tour in Ibaraki.
Overview
Set off from Tokyo on a one-day chartered Bar-on-Bus journey through Ibaraki Prefecture, where the heritage of Kiuchi Brewery unfolds across three working sites of sake, beer, and whisky craftsmanship. The bus itself, fitted with a working bar counter, pours Hitachino Nest Beer, Hinomaru Whisky, Hinomaru Gin and Kiuchi Umeshu free-flow throughout the day, between stops and along the road.
The itinerary brings you to Yasato Distillery for guided whisky tastings and a curated lunch overlooking Mount Tsukuba; to Nukata Brewery, usually closed to the public, for a rare in-depth look at Hitachino Nest Beer; and finally to Konosu Sake Brewery, the historic heart of Kiuchi Brewery, established in 1823, for sake tasting in traditional kura surroundings.
Exclusive factory access, expert-led tastings, locally sourced lunch and a private bus designed by Mitsuhiro Ikeda of DRAWER (exterior) and Jamo Associates (interior, inspired by a bird’s nest in homage to Hitachino Nest Beer) make this a one-of-a-kind journey for craft beverage enthusiasts.
