In the heart of Ginza stands Ryotei Kacyo, a prestigious traditional Japanese restaurant established in 1927. Across nearly a century it has hosted a remarkable cast of guests, from prime ministers and celebrated kabuki actors to international icons such as Charles Chaplin and Walt Disney, each welcomed into the discreet elegance for which the ryotei is known.

In the 2000s the restaurant was reimagined as a modern-style dining room, opening its doors to the wider public while carefully preserving the grace and atmosphere of a classic ryotei. The result is a setting where a long tradition of hospitality feels neither remote nor formal, but warmly alive.

At the center of the experience is a live Oiran Procession, performed mid-meal by professional Japanese dancers across roughly fifteen minutes of quiet spectacle. The oiran, a high-ranking courtesan of the Edo period, embodied refined beauty, elegance, and grace, and her stately promenade returns that courtly world to the room.

Surrounding the performance is a seasonal kaiseki menu, served as a full multi-course meal composed to reflect the moment in the year. Guests on the dinner plan also enjoy an all-you-can-drink selection, while the unhurried pace of roughly two hours leaves room to savor both the cuisine and the theatre.
