One Day Mt. Fuji Tour from Tokyo by Chartered Helicopter & Taxi with a Guide

Fly Tokyo to Mt. Fuji in 35 minutes by chartered helicopter, then a chartered-taxi day around Lake Kawaguchi with an English-speaking guide.

Overview

Skip the four-hour highway drive and fly Tokyo to Mt. Fuji in thirty-five minutes by chartered helicopter. From the Tokyo Heliport along the Kanto plain to the Fuji Oshino Heliport at the mountain's foot, the flight is the kind of pre-dawn-to-mountain transition only aviation makes possible.

On arrival a chartered taxi and your English-speaking guide are waiting. The day around Lake Kawaguchi traces the things the helicopter cannot: the eight spring-fed ponds of Oshino Hakkai (UNESCO component to the Mt. Fuji site), the Kawaguchi Asama Shrine and its modern Tenku-no-Torii gate framed against the mountain, a hoto-noodle lunch in town, a century-old family sake brewery fed by Fuji snowmelt, and the seasonal flower beds of Oishi Park along the lakeshore. The helicopter returns you to Tokyo by late afternoon.

Details
❖ Hotel Pick-up

Your English-speaking guide meets you in the lobby of your central Tokyo hotel at 08:00. A short taxi transfer to the Tokyo Heliport in Shinkiba.

❖ Tokyo Heliport

Boarding at the Tokyo Heliport in Shinkiba. After a safety briefing and weight check, the helicopter lifts off at 09:00 for the thirty-five-minute flight to Mt. Fuji along the Kanto plain.

❖ Fuji Oshino Heliport

Landing at the Fuji Oshino Heliport at the foot of Mt. Fuji at 09:35. A chartered taxi and your guide are waiting on the tarmac for the short transfer to the first stop.

❖ Oshino Hakkai

1:25 h (09:45 - 11:10)

Eight crystal-clear spring ponds in the small village of Oshino, fed directly by Mt. Fuji snowmelt and listed as a component of the Mt. Fuji UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Historically a Buddhist purification site for pilgrims preparing to climb Mt. Fuji. The Hannoki-Bayashi Shiryokan open-air museum sits alongside the main pond, and Mt. Fuji reflects in the still water on clear days.

❖ Kawaguchi Asama Shrine

0:40 h (11:30 - 12:10)

Kawaguchi Asama Shrine was founded in 865 as a place to enshrine Mt. Fuji's volcanic deity. A short walk up the cedar-lined slope leads to the Tenku-no-Torii, a modern viewpoint installed in 2019 that frames Mt. Fuji through a red torii gate. One of the most photographed Fuji views in the Five Lakes region.

❖ Lunch in Kawaguchiko

1:00 h (12:30 - 13:30)

Lunch at a local restaurant chosen by your guide based on dietary needs. The regional speciality is hoto: thick handmade wheat noodles simmered with seasonal vegetables and pumpkin in a miso-based broth, a Yamanashi farmhouse dish dating to the Sengoku period.

❖ Ide Sake Brewery

0:25 h (13:45 - 14:10)

Ide Sake Brewery is a small family-run kura near the shore of Lake Kawaguchi, in business for almost a century. The brewery uses spring water from Mt. Fuji for the rice wash and the brew, which is essential for the clarity and finish of the sake. A brief tour of the facility is followed by a tasting and the chance to purchase the brewery's labels.

❖ Oishi Park

0:30 h (14:25 - 14:55)

Oishi Park sits on the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi with one of the lake's clearest views of Mt. Fuji. Seasonal flower beds line the 350-metre Flower Road: lavender in mid-summer, nemophila and phlox in spring, kochia turning red in autumn. A short, restful stop with optional sake from the brewery if you bought a bottle.

❖ Fuji Oshino Heliport (return)

Back to the Fuji Oshino Heliport at 15:30 for the return flight. The helicopter lifts off and traces the same line back to the Tokyo Heliport, landing at 16:05.

❖ Tokyo Heliport (return)

A chartered taxi takes you back to your hotel in central Tokyo. The tour ends in the hotel lobby around 16:30.

Helicopter Weight Restrictions

Each helicopter has weight restrictions. If the total weight of passengers, guide and luggage exceeds the aircraft's regulated limit, a larger helicopter is arranged. The average guide weight is 50 to 70 kilograms.

Important Notice: Power Bank Regulations

To ensure flight safety, the following rules regarding mobile batteries (power banks) are strictly enforced.

① Allowed Items

You may only bring small mobile batteries that carry a visible PSE mark. During the flight, these must be stored in our designated fireproof safety bags.

② Prohibited Items

We cannot accept any of the following, regardless of the reason:

  • Large batteries (those that do not fit in our safety pouches).

  • High-capacity batteries (160 Wh or more, per ICAO standards).

  • Products without a clear Wh rating or PSE mark label.

  • Batteries that are swollen, damaged, or showing signs of aging.

③ Strict Boarding and Cancellation Policy

As many takeoff and landing sites are in remote locations, we have no facilities to dispose of prohibited batteries on-site. If a prohibited battery is found at boarding, you will not be permitted to fly: this is treated as a same-day cancellation with no refund. Please check your equipment in advance. Abandoning batteries on-site counts as illegal dumping; they must be disposed of at proper facilities beforehand.
