Wagyu Experience: Taste the Real Japanese Beef in Tokyo
Two hours of Kagoshima Wagyu at Alternative Entrance Tokyo: eight-course omakase dinner, chefs cooking in front of you, three course options at booking.
Overview
Kagoshima Wagyu is the beef that has carried top honours at the National Wagyu Competition, the cattle breeders' Olympics held every five years, including the Prefectural Team Award and the Prime Minister's Award in the breeding category. This two-hour dinner at Alternative Entrance Tokyo turns the beef into an eight-course tasting menu, prepared in front of you by a small chef team: slow-cooked beef cheek, yukhoe, steak, sukiyaki, katsu sando, a vegetable burrito, a Japanese curry soup, and a dessert at the close. The chefs walk you through each plate, the history of the cut, the technique, the pairing on the table.
The venue itself runs two distinct rooms: one in a traditional Japanese register, one dedicated to Tokyo's contemporary pop culture and art. A modern-design building in Oshiage (Sumida-ku), not a typical restaurant but something closer to a dining gallery, with a spacious main room and a smaller private room for flexibility. At booking you choose one of three course options: the eight-course Omakase with a seven-step sake flight (Jabara, Tamagawa, Kaze no Mori, Doburoku, and more); the same course with three non-alcoholic juice pairings (mandarin, shikuwasa, craft cola, ginger syrup); or the course on its own, with drinks selected and paid at the venue on the day. Shared by default with other guests; the whole venue can be booked out privately on request.

❖ Wagyu Experience
What makes this experience truly unique is that it goes far beyond a typical restaurant. Here, guests don't just sit down to be served Wagyu, they discover it. You experience the true taste of Japan's finest delicacy, Kagoshima Wagyu (beef), prepared with various techniques such as grilling or torching, and paired with authentic flavors like freshly grated wasabi.

❖ Throughout the dinner
Chefs personally introduce each dish and drink, sharing the history, flavor profiles, and cultural stories behind them. The Kagoshima Wagyu served here is among the best in Japan, having earned top honors at the National Wagyu Competition (the so-called Wagyu Olympics), including the Prefectural Team Award and the Prime Minister's Award in the breeding category. Each sake pairing is carefully selected to perfectly complement the Wagyu, featuring authentic varieties from different regions of Japan (sake pairing is part of Course A only).

Service hours
18:00-20:00: standard service, shared with other guests (default booking time 18:00).
20:00-22:00: private arrangements only, available on request.
The meeting point is a building that stands out from the surrounding structures with its modern design. The entrance is on the lower floor. The atmosphere is modern and comfortable, enriched with insights into traditional Japanese culture. The course starts at 6 pm with a welcome greeting, followed by the Omakase course.

The venue itself enhances the journey, offering two distinct spaces: one inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics, and another celebrating Tokyo's pop culture and contemporary art, creating a dynamic and immersive atmosphere that bridges Japan's heritage and its modern creative spirit. As soon as you walk in, it has a fancy and well-kept atmosphere. The spacious main room features a large central table for several guests, alongside an additional room that allows for more privacy or flexibility for larger groups.

For an even more exclusive experience, the entire venue can be rented out privately, perfect for company gatherings, weddings, or other special occasions. Above all, it is not only about savoring exquisite food, but also about the personal attention from the chefs, who dedicate their time to you and cook right in front of you.
